A Competency Analysis Map (CAM™) is an assessment tool used to record, diagnose and track an individual's development in selected and strategically important skills. CAMs™ are designed so that an individual, manager and coach can share proficiency ratings to develop sound plans to raise or maintain performance. It is also designed for central functions like Sales Performance consulting, Human Resources, Marketing and Senior Managers to help them make strategic, resourcing decisions based on aggregated data.

A CAM™ is the heart of understanding in developing people to be competitively successful. It focuses on only those competencies which are closely connected to delivering business goals that can be developed in sufficient time to make an impact on sales success.

 
   

 
   
CAM™ content—the competencies, behaviors and evidences—are developed by those who manage and coach. Successful CAM™ maintenance monitors a select group of behaviors, most relevant to the business at that time. Monitoring looks at the individual ratings against other measure, like sales growth, to ensure managers and coaches are rating consistently. Over time, evidence levels will evolve, reflecting changes in recruitment stands, competitive treatments, customer satisfaction ratings, etc.
